I thought I should make one of these since the pen tool is so nifty but often confuses people. I hope I explained it well enough

hi there! I just got GIMP and thought this was really helpful. Except I'm a bit confused at your last instructions. What do you mean by filling paths? Whenever I try that, it fills in the whole area when I only want an outline.
